Several Leicester City players set for summer exitsSeveral of Leicester City’s squad are set to depart the club this summer, says boss Gary Rowett.Leicester’s relegation to League One was confirmed with a draw against Hull City in their last outing.Rowett’s long-term future at the club is still unclear but the Leicester boss believes several players will certainly depart this summer.Advertisement“A lot of the players will leave,” Rowett said. “A lot of the players are loanees as well. There will be a natural freshening up the club in terms of the playing squad.“Every football club across the land, whether they’re relegated or not, there’ll always be a couple of players who maybe feel a fresh start will benefit them, and maybe the club will feel a fresh start would benefit them. That’s natural at any football club.”Rowett also says he wants to protect on-loan midfielder Jordan James from suffering a more serious injury ahead of the game against Milwall.“He limped off. To be fair to JJ, he’s put himself out there. I don’t think he’s been close to fully fit in the games he’s been back for,” Rowett said.Advertisement“For a young player who has added so much value to a tough season, we want to make sure we don’t end up playing him so that he then has a serious problem that then won’t go away.“I think he’d make himself available. We’ll decide what that looks like for the game. It will be unlikely he starts. He landed awkwardly on it. It’s still his heel.”
