A shooter has killed eight children in Shreveport, in the US state of Louisiana, on Sunday, according to local police. "This is an extensive scene unlike anything most of us have ever seen," Shreveport police chief Wayne Smith told reporters. The youngest victim was 1 year old, and the oldest was 14, officials said. Two adults have reportedly also been shot. The police also said the crime scene extended across three locations, and described the incident as a "domestic disturbance." According to local police representative Chris Bordelon, the dispute broke out early on Sunday morning, with a man opening fire. The suspect tried to flee after the shooting and was shot by the police during pursuit. The city of Shreveport is the third-biggest city in Louisiana and is located near the state border with Texas.
